Umara AB, organization number 556931-0252, is behind this website and we want as many people as possible to be able to use it. This statement describes how the website umarasports.com meets accessibility requirements, the known issues, and how you can report deficiencies so that we can address them.

Text Alternatives (alt‑texts) On several pages, alt‑texts are missing or generic (e.g., "Before activity", "During activity"), which do not describe the image's content. In search results, the alt‑text only reproduces the product title, which does not provide information. Users relying on screen readers therefore gain no understanding of the images. All informative images will be provided with meaningful alt‑texts that describe what the image shows and its purpose. Decorative images will be marked with an empty alt="" according to accessibility guidelines.
Heading Structure and Page Titles Headings sometimes skip levels, e.g., an h1 is followed by an h3 or several h3s are used without subordinate levels. This breaks the semantic structure and makes it difficult for screen readers to navigate. Some page titles do not update when a product configuration changes. The structure should follow the correct hierarchy (h1 > h2 > h3 etc.) without skipping levels. Each page should have a descriptive title that reflects the content.
Contrast and Focus Indicators The contrast for focus indicators and hover‑effects is often too low against the background to be noticeable. During keyboard navigation, it is not always clear which element has focus. We ensure at least 3:1 contrast between components/focus markers and background according to WCAG 1.4.11. CSS rules (:focus) should be used for clear focus indicators.
Focus Order and Keyboard Navigation On some pages, focus does not follow a logical order; elements receive focus in an unpredictable manner when tabbing through the page, and modal windows (e.g., package configurator) do not place focus on the opened dialog. Focus order should follow the document structure so that the content is logical for keyboard users. When dialog boxes open, focus moves to the dialog and restores when it is closed.
Labels and Forms Some form fields lack correctly linked label elements or clear instructions on what the user should fill in. This means that screen readers do not present the purpose of the field. In product configurations, only visual icons are used to select flavor or size, and these cannot be selected via the keyboard. Form fields should have visible labels with for/id attributes so assistive devices can identify them. Icon-based choices are complemented with text and made keyboard navigable.
Responsiveness and Zoom At 200% text zoom or on small screens, several parts of the website require horizontal scrolling or have text and buttons clipped. On the home page, you must scroll sideways to see product categories, and long headings or podcast episode descriptions are truncated. In the search modal and search page, fields and results do not fit, and long words disappear into the right margin. Product lists and product pages truncate descriptions at zooming, and in the cart and checkout, the sticky parts reduce the visible area so you must scroll horizontally to read all fields. We will improve the responsive interface so the content adapts without horizontal scrolling. Layouts and components are reconstructed with flexible grid systems and relative units, so text and images reflow at 200% zoom. The search modal and search page should display search fields and results in a single column when space is limited. Product lists and product pages should have movable parts, and the cart and checkout should be designed so that all content is visible without lateral scrolling even at high magnification.
Language and Mixing of Languages Texts mix Swedish and English without marking the language in the code. This causes screen readers to pronounce words incorrectly and hinders understanding. We specify lang attributes on the entire page and at language changes in code so screen readers can switch languages.
Respect for User Settings The website does not offer a dark mode and ignores system settings for text size. Requirements mean that the site should respect the user's settings for measures, color, contrast, font, and text size. We introduce support for dark mode and ensure the site’s CSS uses relative units so that text enlarges when the user changes the system setting for text size.
Links and Buttons Some links lack descriptive link text (for example, "Read more"), and some buttons lack a machine-readable name (e.g., icons to delete products). This violates guidelines that link text should clarify where the link leads. All links will have descriptive text that aligns with the target page's title. Icon buttons receive aria-label or visible text.
PDF Documents Any PDFs are not reviewed for accessibility. Upcoming PDFs will comply with PDF/UA and contain tags so they can be read with screen readers.
Exceptions (Undue Burden) We do not invoke any exceptions from the legal requirements.

We currently have no content that is covered by the exceptions in Section 9 of the Accessibility Act.

How we have tested the website

We have conducted a self-assessment (internal testing) of umarasports.com and consulted external experts for accessibility review. In addition, we have also used various automated tools for website analysis. The tests were conducted during the summer of 2025 and included keyboard navigation, screen reader tests (nvda), contrast checks, responsiveness testing, animations, and page structure.
