The Easy-to-Read (Awesome) Version

You're awesome, and we respect that - we even encourage it. But, of course, if you buy products from us, we need to know your name and where you live to send the goods to you. Ideally, we also want you to pay for the items, which means you'll need to share your payment information with Svea (our payment provider, not a random person).

We prefer not to unnecessarily save your information because it just takes up space. However, we will store some of your purchase info to allow certain features on the website, like reviews and purchase history. Plus, the tax authorities would be quite unhappy if we didn't keep our accounting records - we simply follow the law.

Our business is all about offering an awesome range of sports nutrition and related products. We won't try to make money by selling your information to any shady companies. However, we may share your information with other companies we work with to deliver products to you or inform you about any exciting new merchandise we're launching.

While cookies are delicious, those aren't the type we save on your computer. Some cookies are necessary to ensure the site functions correctly, such as those for the shopping cart and security mechanisms. You can find all the tasty details at the end of this page.

If, for some unfathomable reason, you have a dispute with us, we prefer to resolve it directly. If that doesn't work, Swedish law applies.

If you have any questions, wish to correct information, or want us to forget you, please contact us at [email protected], and we'll handle it Umara Style.

The Long Version with All the Tasty Details

Umara AB (Org.nr 556931-0252, referred to as "Umara" or "we") always strives to handle your ("you", "your", "yourself") personal data in a way that makes you feel awesome.

This privacy policy describes how and why we, as the data controller, collect and process your personal data and what we do to protect it.

What is Personal Data?

Personal data refers to any information that can be used directly or indirectly to identify a living individual. This includes electronic identities and IP addresses if they can be traced back to a specific person.

Personal Data You Provide to Us and What We Do with It

When Placing an Order

To process a purchase in our e-commerce store, we collect personal data from you, including your first and last name, address, city, postal code, email address, and phone number.

We need this information to complete a sale and deliver the products to you. The details are also stored in our accounting system and for any necessary communication with authorities, as required by law. If you have questions about an order, we will use your information to contact you.

When you place an order, you receive an order confirmation with details about the products you've purchased. Unfortunately, you cannot unsubscribe from this email since it pertains to your order.

After placing an order, you may receive an email inviting you to rate your shopping experience with us or review the products you've purchased. This might be sent through our systems or another service like Trustpilot.

Our payment solution provider, Svea Ekonomi, acts as an independent data controller and collects your information for billing and risk assessments. You can learn more about the personal data they collect in Svea's data protection policy.

When Communicating with Us via Email

We use Google Workspace, including Gmail, for managing emails. When you email us, your information is processed and stored through Gmail, with data confined to Europe under GDPR standards. This ensures your information is protected according to European regulations.

Bear in mind, even with robust security by us and Google, sensitive information should be avoided in emails.

We only retain your email for as long as necessary to handle the correspondence or case.

Newsletter

We send a newsletter approximately 2-4 times a month. You can unsubscribe anytime via the link in the message or by logging into My Pages. If you provide your email address, and sign up while logged into your account, we'll use your name too.

For the newsletter, we use Aweber, a service based in the USA, under Privacy Shield, guaranteeing adequate protection for your data.

What Personal Data We Collect and for What Purposes

When you visit our website, we log anonymous information about your web browser and visited pages to enhance our service.

Your IP address is logged on our web server in Sweden to track, detect, and prevent intrusions, fraud, and service abuse. These log files are deleted after 180 days.

We do not sell or disclose your personal data to other companies without your consent. However, your data may be processed by companies on behalf of Umara to complement our services.

We may disclose information to third parties, like the police or other authorities, when required by law.

Cookies

Svea, our payment system provider, uses cookies to enhance your checkout experience.

For any other cookies, we will ask for your consent. Refer to the end of this page for a complete list and to manage your preferences.

What We Do to Protect Your Data

We ensure that the services storing your personal data maintain high-security standards, with agreements in place to safeguard your data.

Our automated processes delete or anonymize unnecessary data after a set period. To prevent data loss, we perform continuous and daily backups with regular functionality checks.

Only authorized personnel have access to registers containing your personal data.

Your Rights

You have the right to request a copy of your stored information from us free once a year. For additional requests within a year, we may charge a reasonable fee due to administrative work.

You have the right to request data deletion ("the right to be forgotten") in certain circumstances.

You can always request corrections to inaccurate data. Some modifications you can make by logging into “My Pages”; for other corrections, email us describing your case.

You can revoke consent given initially or oppose automatic decisions based on your data.

For detailed information on this, visit the Data Inspection Board's website.

Data Processors

Umara uses, or may use, one or more data processors.

A data processor is a third party that handles your data on Umara's behalf for specific purposes.

This may include logistics partners, accounting systems, or other services we use to serve you. We ensure agreements exist between us and these parties to ensure proper data handling.

Dispute Resolution

Disputes between Umara and the customer will be first addressed between the parties. If unresolved, Swedish law will resolve it.
