So what's the deal with aero socks?
In wind tunnel tests, aero socks have been shown to save about 3-5 watts at speeds of 30-40km/h compared to regular socks. And we believe it's worth conserving, so we developed our own aero socks with a nerdy Italian company.
But how? Well, the air that hits/passes the leg creates a vortex/turbulence behind the leg, this "drag" provides a backward suction effect which increases air resistance, which, as we all know, is the cyclist's worst enemy. When cycling on flat ground and at speeds around 30–40 km/h, air resistance accounts for about 80-90% of the total resistance the cyclist needs to overcome.
