Here is our energy package for a half marathon.
This energy plan is based on also consuming sports drinks provided at the race’s hydration stations where sports drinks are available. In addition to the served sports drinks, you’ll use gels in this package as outlined below.

Usage (for 1:45-2 hours)
30 minutes before start – U Intend Shot 60ml
5 minutes before start – U Gel 30g Carbs
30 minutes in – U Gel 30g Carbs
1 hour in – U Gel 30g Carbs
1.5 hours in – U Gel 30g Carbs
The recommended intake is for those running a time of around 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours. For longer times, we suggest adding one extra gel for each additional 30 minutes.
If you consume the sports drink at each station, you’ll get 20-40g of carbohydrates (depending on how much you manage to drink), and these 4 gels provide an additional 120g, totaling 140-160g of carbohydrates, which is sufficient for about 2 hours of running. Missing a station or two won’t disrupt your energy intake.
