U Intend
U Intend is created for those who want to get that little extra from their body and truly perform at their best. You can think of U Intend as your motivator button. Do you feel tired and worn out but still have that tough interval workout planned for today.... Here U Intend has a big impact, it simply gets you off the couch. It ensures that your workouts are completed, and this comes with a sparkling quality in your training!
So how does it work then? U Intend contains an optimal dose of amino acids and caffeine that helps your body perform at its best. U Intend was developed to assist in three stages: aerobic (the body working with oxygen), anaerobic (the body working without oxygen), and to provide a mental push.
U Intend's contents and its effects:
Citrulline Malate - This is a so-called non-essential amino acid that naturally occurs in, for example, watermelon. Citrulline is one of the active amino acids in the so-called urea cycle, a system that cleanses the blood from substances that accumulate in the body during both rest and activity. During intense physical activity, there is a breakdown of muscle tissue that can acidify the blood with ammonia. When ammonia builds up in the blood, it deteriorates the body's ability to work aerobically, and as a result, the body begins to work anaerobically (without sufficient oxygen), which affects performance.
Citrulline has been shown to increase both aerobic and anaerobic performance as well as reduce exercise soreness. The reduced exercise soreness may be due to the effective clearance of ammonia from the blood. The supply of citrulline also leads to elevated levels of nitric oxide in the blood which in turn signals the blood vessels to open up so that blood flow to and from working muscles increases.
BCAA - Branched-Chain Amino Acids are three of the essential amino acids that we must obtain from our diet for our function and health. BCAAs play several roles in training and competition. Among other things, these three amino acids are identified as the most significant for muscle protein synthesis, primarily Leucine, which we have the most of in U Intend. The effect of leucine on muscle protein synthesis means that the growth of muscle fibers is triggered. Additionally, the intake of BCAA seems to have a glycogen-sparing effect as it can also be used as an energy source. Furthermore, BCAA has also been shown to reduce exercise soreness after intense training and to decrease mental fatigue.
Beta-Alanine - This is also a non-essential amino acid. Research studies have shown that the intake of beta-alanine can lead to improved performance and counteract perceived fatigue. Beta-alanine increases levels of carnosine in muscle cells, which provides a pH-buffering effect. This means that when the pH lowers in the body due to lactic acid and physical exertion, carnosine regulates it back to normal levels, allowing you to work longer at or above threshold. Beta-alanine can cause harmless tingling in the skin, but the tingles also contribute to an invigorating and "energizing effect."
Taking U Intend 1-2 times a week also provides a dose of beta-alanine that extends the positive effect on your performance over time. So you are essentially buffering carnosine levels in the body.
Tyrosine - Tyrosine is used as a performance enhancer as it is a precursor to dopamine, which in turn acts as a "feel-good hormone" in the body. It appears that one can maintain a proper amount of dopamine during activity with the help of tyrosine supplementation. The dopamine can then act in its natural form or be converted to adrenaline and noradrenaline, which in turn have performance-enhancing effects.
Caffeine - Provides increased focus, increased alertness, enhanced endurance performance, increased endurance capacity, and reduced perceived exertion during activity. The performance-enhancing properties of caffeine have been carefully studied in recent years, and a total of 21 different studies show that endurance performance increased on average by 2.3% when taken before competition and up to 4.3% when taken both before and during training. Therefore, it is not difficult to see why it is so widely used. A dose of U Intend 45 minutes before the start, followed by 1-2 U Gel with caffeine every hour, paves the way for new records.
U Intend is one of the best products of its kind on the market, but it is not a magical product. Its contents are fully legal and doping-free, so you can take U Intend with peace of mind regardless of your level.
When to take U Intend
U Intend is available in powder form in a container and should be mixed with 1 scoop (18g, included) in 250-500ml of water. Alternatively, you can use an U Intend shot where two shots provide a normal full dose.
U Intend should be taken 30-60 min before physical activity, but can also be taken during activity for an extra boost. Of course, U Intend can be mixed into all of Umaras sports drinks to create a caffeinated sports drink. For flavor, we find it best to mix with U Sport 2:1 Lemon or U Sport 1:0.8 Elderflower.
