U Bicarbonate in special capsule
We are now launching nerd product number 1 - U Bicarbonate. Learn more about the product in text and video. At the bottom, you will find our unboxing video where we explain the purpose of U Bicarbonate.
What effects can you expect?
What about stomach issues?
The problem that arose before we developed U Bicarbonate was that bicarbonate with a pH of 8.3 (alkaline) must pass through the stomach with a pH of 1.5 (acidic) before reaching the small intestine and the bloodstream. The significant difference in pH between bicarbonate and stomach creates a chemical reaction. This chemical reaction results in a strong development of carbonic acid, which then becomes carbon dioxide and water, causing you to feel bloated and increasing the risk of stomach discomfort.
Through new technology, we at Umara have solved this by encapsulating bicarbonate in special acid-resistant capsules that pass through the stomach and release bicarbonate only in the more alkaline small intestine for absorption. In studies with test subjects, the capsule usually passes through the stomach completely or partially before the bicarbonate is released. This means that we do not experience as strong a gas development, and the stomach calms down.
NOTE: There is still a risk of stomach issues, but it is significantly lower, and if you find the dosage that suits you best, the effects will also be noticeable. Recommended dosage based on your body weight is stated on the jar.
The difference in pH between bicarbonate and small intestine is low, which reduces the risk of stomach issues while maintaining the pH-buffering effect in the blood. #sciencebyumara
How does bicarbonate work?
In the body, we have a pH of 7.4, and bicarbonate, which buffers pH, has a pH value of 8.3. Research shows that intake of bicarbonate in sufficient amounts raises your blood pH up to 7.5, allowing you to train harder at high intensity, and your body will adapt to this new capacity.
The pH level increases in the blood. This allows the acidic hydrogen ions + lactate (lactic acid) produced in the muscle during intense work to leave the muscle faster, so the muscle can maintain its pH level and you can perform better during your intervals.
Since you can stay extra long at or above the threshold, you will hopefully also be able to overcome that plateau you may have struggled with during interval training. This, in turn, will allow you to increase both your VO2max more quickly, as well as raise your threshold.
