Sarah Lahti - Welcome to Team Umara

2.5 min reading
It feels really awesome to finally introduce Sarah as a true Umarian. The Hasselby runner Sarah Lahti is focused on middle- and long-distance events with participation in both the European Championships, World Championships, and the Olympics.
Already in 2016, she made her name in running when she set the Swedish record in the 10,000m and knocked Midde Hamrin off the throne after 26 years. She now holds the Swedish record in the 10km at 31:26 and in the 5km with a time of 15:22. Both records were set in 2021. She also has the Swedish record in half marathon from Valencia this year with a time of 1:08:19.
On December 5th, she will make her debut in Valencia at the marathon distance. Something that will be incredibly exciting. Could she hold the Swedish records in 5km, 10km, half marathon, and marathon? For that, she needs a time faster than Isabellah Andersson's 2:23:41, which is the current Swedish record time. Sara is humble, and as far as we know, she is not going for the record in that distance right at her debut. One should have respect for the marathon distance, which she certainly does, but we believe she will set an amazing time in her debut race if everything goes well for her.
We can summarize that Sarah is currently in really good shape and we are happy to be part of her journey, earlier unofficially, now officially, and of course, we will help with the energy already at her marathon debut in Valencia.
We took the opportunity to ask Sarah a few questions that she happily answered :)
Hi Sarah, it's super fun to have you in Team Umara. For those unfamiliar, can you tell us who Sara Lahti is and what disciplines you are focusing on?
Sarah Lahti is a long-distance runner from Klippan, Skåne. I have been running for 15 years now and my favorite distances are everything from 5000m to half marathon, and I will also be making my marathon debut on December 5th.
How has the season gone and what are your goals going forward?
This season has gone fantastically well; I have achieved personal bests in all distances from 1500 to half marathon and have also broken 2 Swedish records in 10km and half marathon. My goal for the end of the year is to run a great marathon and then build towards the World Championships and European Championships next year.

I saw Umara for the first time at the running shop in Helsingborg. I was in need of energy gel for the half marathon championship in Gothenburg and went into the running shop where they strongly recommended that I try Umara, which I did. I was hooked on your products immediately!
