So it was time to launch a new flavor of our Recover bar. It feels really exciting to launch the U Recover bar with raspberry/blueberry flavor covered in white chocolate!
Just like before, the U Recover Bar contains 30% (15g) complete protein from whey & pea, as well as 17g of carbohydrates that help replenish glycogen stores after a workout. The U Recover Protein bar is perfect after an intense training session, but also works excellently as a convenient and tasty snack, 100% gluten-free.
General nerd info: The whey protein in the U Recover Bar is complete in itself, and pea protein is not actually "needed," but we have chosen to complement it with pea protein to reduce the carbon footprint. Pea protein has a carbon dioxide cost of only 3.7% compared to whey protein and would have been the preferred protein source, but the protein is not complete on its own. We have made a trade-off here between optimal amino acid profile, taste, price, and climate impact, and found what we believe is a golden mean where the protein is complete, the bar is really tasty, and at the same time, we've significantly reduced the carbon footprint compared to a bar with 100% milk/whey protein.
